Dexter Plaza

I was invited to participate in this design/build as a junior in high school. It was a defining experience that made me want to study architecture, go to RISD, and most importantly made me realize that everyone deserves good design.

Dexter Plaza is a Desine Lab project in conjunction with RISD, Brown University, and Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia.

Project leads: Elizabeth Dean Hermann (RISD), Daniel Feldman (Fulbright Scholar visiting from GSD), Martin Anzellini (Javariana)

We constructed a space in the heart of the city of Central Falls, transforming a parking lot into a revitalized public space. The project is an experiment in how revitilizing a public space can impact a community that faces significant challenges.
