RISD’s Center for Student Involvement is the homebase for co-curricular engagement at RISD. Over the summer of 2017, I worked directly with the Director of the Center for Student Involvement writing a new fellowship program. The program addressed many structural problems of the Leadership & Community Engagement Fellowship (of which I was a fellow my first two years of RISD). The new program combines work at community organizations, liberal and studio courses, and monthly cohort meetings, to integrate student’s experiences off campus into their practices back on campus. The graphic design is consistent with institutional standards and direction.

The fellowship is still being developed in conjunction with RISD’s forthcoming Strategic Plan.

As a program assistant, I learned how to look holistically between curricular and cocurricular interests, and embed a program within existing structures.
